Battle her in the Huntsman’s Woods (in the Elf Village) and she will join you.
Spark III is a lightning-fast spellcaster who lets none of her excellent base stats go to waste.
She does quite well when slinging afflictive magic. Spark III can easily land a status ailment on foes that have 100% cure rates before they have a chance to act, which you can use to your advantage.
Her Lightningrod skill allows her to circumvent Mighty Foes’ immunity-piercing Extra Effects by drawing Lightning type attacks away from whoever is considered the frontliner.
Direct Circuit’s SP consumption is too high to ignore, so you’ll want to come up with something to deal with it.
Just Charge+Spark III alone is excellent and quick to build to a completed state. At the very worst, pumping MAG and AGI should be sufficient to handle Tactical Mode. Getting Spark III to join is easy as long as you have Electro Barrier with you. Highly recommended.
What | Why |
Magic Wand: Windi | Weighs nothing. Gives Toxin to everything. |
Bio Crescent | Has great attack range. Spark III is immune to its 10% chance to paralyze the wielder. |
Ice Blade | Tears Earth and Grass type foes to shreds with its magic. |
Magic Book: Ruler | Step 1: Use Charge. Step 2: Use Ruler Blaze (Lightning type). Step 3: Massive damage. |
Mystic Branch | Grass Mixer has a high chance to blind foes, which is very useful. |
Chainsaw | Has amazing crit rate when wielded by a Lightning type. Not only is the damage stellar, but so is the chance of insta-kill. |
Hexilliam | A nice, lightweight shield that has SP regen. Earth/Esper typing makes it a good fit for neutralizing Lightning type attacks with Lightningrod. |
Saint Shield Fierce Deity Shield Reflect Guard |
Gives Lightning to Spark III’s 2nd type for maximum Ruler Blaze destruction. You could also just not equip her with a shield at all. |
Any gear that boosts magic power | Spark III excels with magic, so stacking magic boosts is a natural fit. Dark Inferno is a bit on the heavy side. |
Any gear that has SP regen | To offset the SP costs associated with Direct Current. |
Magiplex Bracelet | It’s heavy, but it’s well worth the halved SP consumption. More or less overwrites Direct Current’s downsides. |
