Clear the game and win round 6 of the Battle Arena. You may add Ice III to the party by pressing SHIFT twice while hovering your cursor over Poison.
Twin Handguns deals fixed damage based on Ice III’s SL. At SL250, she deals 150 damage to all foes. If only 1 foe is present, she will fire 2 shots at them for 300 total damage. Any more foes and each foe would only be shot once for 150 damage each. Neither type nor weapon nor EX Skills appear to have any influence on the amount of damage. It truly is fixed.
Ties with Flame III for highest innate MAG (130).
Though her Crystallize lasts longer than usual, her stat layout means it isn’t as powerful as it could be, so she NEEDS those extra turns to compensate.
Remember that Twin Handguns deals fixed damage based on SL and does not benefit from Crystallize, either.
All in all, Ice III is a balanced character capable of physical, magical, and fixed damage.
Her main drawback is a glaring lack of skill synergy.
But any character that can deal 300 single-target damage in a single turn can’t be BAD, now can they?
Something interesting and notable is the success rate of Ice III’s Icy Joke skill.
It is so accurate that it is capable of freezing the final bonus boss as long as it doesn’t have Ice resistance. Mind your party’s own resistances and you can use this to your advantage.
It’s so OP that you can only use it once per battle. Your best bet is trying to fire it off before the enemy can get their action in, but that can be a challenge seeing as Ice III has a modest 65 innate AGI.
Reload Guard appears to behave just as Mega Lighti does and does not affect item CT. Hair Radar functions identically to Wide-Angle Lens, and the effects do stack should you equip one.
Ice III is an MVP in Tactical Mode due to the large amount of damage she can deal in a single turn. Icy Joke can also be put to use for buying time if the need should ever arise. This can be done from the moment you get her in the party since she starts with that skill. The trouble is that it won’t work on every enemy you come across.
What | Why |
Ice Blade | Can use Crystallize for physical power, as well as unleash mighty Blizzard IIIs backed by Ice III’s massive 130 innate MAG. |
Magic Book: Ruler | Powers up magic and enables casting of all the different types of magic you could ever want. |
Zero Lance | Aldar Strike under Crystallize is a force to be reckoned with. Use it just like you would with Cold Pasta. |
Silent Staff Scorching Staff |
Powers up magic and offers different types of magic. |
Shiden Ryuuga |
Makes dropping Icy Joke at the start of the turn a breeze. Has the added benefit of single target or party-wide spellcasting depending on which one you use. |
Shunrou | Same as above for fast Icy Joke usage. No weapon skills, but provides 5% HP regen. |
Dragon God | Nullifies Ice III’s biggest weakness: Flame. Also helps with AGI. |
Reflector | The Reflect skill has CT1. That means good things under Reload Guard. |
Choice Scarf | For telling an Icy Joke before anyone else gets the chance to act. This does prevent Ice III from manually defending, however. |
World Reversal | Transforms Ice III into a beastly physical attacker. The results are very interesting, especially with Reload Guard’s accelerated CT charging to speed along the use of certain physical skills. |
Diamond Club | If doing a World Reversal build, this is the weapon to use. Hair Radar makes the low accuracy of Giga Swing a non-issue, while Ironclad Guard auto-defends after attacking, triggering Reload Guard. See where this is going? |
Auto Bowgun | Hair Radar turns the low-accuracy Multi Shot into a deadly volley of 5 consecutive hits. May be worth synthing into something else depending on the enemy. |
Marionette | Defend between attacks and you can use Fury Swipes every other turn. Could be worth using in a World Reversal build. |
EX Skill | Why |
HP+ | Ice III has solid DEF, but needs HP to back it up. |
Guard Power | Makes Reload Guard that much better. |
Autoguard | |
Type Affinity MAG+ |
Good choices if Ice III will be casting spells most of the time. |
